Group Coaching

Hi! Jessica here. From my nonprofit work over the past 2+ decades, both as an HR director and an external consultant, I know how hard your job is. I know the pressures you feel to have more of an impact, to take care of your team members, and to take care of your energy and interests too.

I know the stress and burnout of this work, and the unique way it affects those of us who feel committed to it.

That’s what has led me to offer this Group Coaching Program:

  • to give you a space to receive support

  • to reduce the feelings of loneliness from being the one “in charge”

  • to create connections with similar leaders in a confidential setting

What group coaching looks like

In the beginning, we’ll connect with each other, and build trust and a space to be vulnerable with one another, understanding that the act of sharing with a group of strangers is scary and worthy of respect, and that this kind of sharing helps all of us to grow and learn - and ultimately feel less alone.

Group coaching differs from individual coaching in that the group works together to co-create the focus and goals for our work together. My job as the coach is to provide opportunities for each person to be coached throughout the course of the program on topics that are most relevant to them, which also align with the goals of the group.

Practically speaking, sometimes one or two people will receive deeper coaching during a session, and other times, everyone in the group will be coached. I’ll look for ways to connect the topics and challenges that arise so that all in the group may benefit. And as the program progresses, group members may also begin to practice coaching skills with one another.

There are not many rules for the focus of our sessions, but each call will help you move to action - because taking small steps is what adds up to meaningful change over time.

Who is this group for?

The purpose of this group is to help nonprofit Executive Directors, CEOs, and similar leaders feel less isolated, and more resilient and connected, so you can be more effective and have sustainable impact.

This program might be for you if you:

  • Know you need to make changes in order to create a sustainable approach to work (and life).

  • Have been interested in hiring a coach, but you (or your board) balked at the cost.

  • Want to connect with other leaders like you.

  • Lean toward a more holistic way of thinking: you know you can’t separate work from the rest of your life, and see similar challenges popping up in both places.

  • Are part of an organization that is changing (or needs to change), and feeling that pressure, without the roadmap to know what to do.

  • Are ready to do some self-reflection, and the hard work of building new behaviors that will strengthen your leadership.

This group will help you…

  • Envision the leader you want to be - and take the steps to get there

  • Handle your time so you can maximize your focus in powerful ways

  • Understand how to find, support, and challenge your team

  • Identify your big dreams and goals, for work and life

  • Overcome imposter syndrome and the inner voices that criticize and question

  • Take concrete actions (and build positive habits) to avoid burnout

How the program works

Each Group Coaching Program is designed for no more than 6 participants, to ensure we have sufficient time to focus on each person. Here are the details of what it looks like:

  • The program will run from February through May 2024.

  • We will meet 3 times per month, for 90 minutes each time.

  • The investment is $3,000 ($3,250 if paid in two installments).

  • Calls will happen by video on Zoom, with recordings available.

  • A DISC work style assessment is included in the cost.

  • Support between calls will happen on a private Slack channel, where you can receive coaching and ask questions, to me as well as the group. Relevant resources will also be shared.

  • Bonus content will be provided on best practices in hiring and engaging staff, and fundraising.
